K Rend Explained
K Rend is a brand name, not a type of render. It's a range of factory-made coloured renders, mainly silicone thin coats and one-coat scratch renders, so a "K Rend" quote is really a silicone (€55–€80 per m²) or one-coat (€50–€75 per m²) quote.
What's in the range, how to compare a branded quote with any other, and the questions to ask.
Free, no obligation. One local contractor prices it, not five.
- €55–€80per m² for a silicone finish
- €50–€75per m² for a one-coat render
- Brandnot a type of render
- Askwhich product, by name
See your house rendered, then get a price
Upload a photo of the front of your house, pick the finish and the colour, and see it on your own walls in about a minute. Your request goes to one rendering contractor who covers your county.
Step 1 of 3
No photo handy?
Step 2 of 3
Rendering your walls. This takes 20 to 50 seconds.
Your request is already through, so you can close this page if you need to.
That's an AI preview, not a promise. The contractor prices the real walls after a look.
We couldn't do this one. Some photos don't work: a clearer, wider shot in daylight usually does.
Your request is in: you'll still get a call with a price.
A brand, not a render type
People say "K Rend" the way they say "Hoover": the name stands in for coloured render in general. The range includes silicone thin coats that go over a base coat, and one-coat (monocouche-type) renders that do the job in a single thick coat.
Several manufacturers make renders of the same types. What matters on your house is the type (silicone, one-coat, acrylic), the base it goes on, the preparation and the person putting it on, not the name on the bag.
- Ask which product, by name, and whether it's a thin coat or a one-coat render.
- Ask what goes under it: a base coat and mesh, or straight onto the old render?
- Ask for the colour by its reference, so you get the shade you picked.
What coloured render costs
Supplied and applied, per square metre of wall, and for whole houses.
| Job | Typical price | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Silicone render (thin coat) | €55–€80 per m² | Base coat and mesh first, then the coloured silicone. Sheds water and dirt |
| Monocouche (one-coat, coloured) | €50–€75 per m² | Colour in the mix, scraped finish. Needs dry, mild weather to cure evenly |
| Acrylic render (thin coat) | €60–€80 per m² | Like silicone on a base coat; flexible, wide colour choice |
| 3-bed semi-detached, whole house | €4,000–€10,000 | The finish, the state of the old walls, the gable |
| Detached two-storey, whole house | €7,000–€16,000 | Four walls, more scaffold, bays and corners |
A guide for typical Irish houses. Your price is fixed by the contractor after they've seen the walls. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
